our history

Our proud history boasts more than 80 years of local history, nostalgia and dedicated service.

At DOM Distribution, we’re proud of our distinguished record for servicing the equipment and machinery needs of our customers. Our history stems back to 1936 when E.C, “Ted” Taylor launched TC Motors. Ted was committed to creating a hometown source of quality machinery, vehicles and equipment for the thriving local agricultural industry.

TC Motors quickly gained a reputation for reliability and service – a standard that continues today. Throughout the final decades of the 20th century, under the guidance of Ted’s son Ray “Squizzy” Taylor and wife Jean, TC Motors continued to grow its loyal local customer base and expand services to regions outside Queensland’s Western Downs.

Looking towards the future, we’re proud to usher in a new era of international trade on the Western Downs.

The 21st century signalled a new era for TC Motors. After almost seven decades, the Taylor family sold the business in 2004 to Pat and Shelley O’Brien, who rebranded the business as Dalby Outdoor Machinery (DOM).

Since then, DOM’s supply network has grown to include the mining, earthmoving and construction industries. We now trade as DOM Distribution, to reflect our expansion into the international machinery market.

Today, DOM Distribution remains a family business dedicated to delivering high-quality machinery and equipment through long-term relationships and innovative global manufacturers and reputable traders in earthmoving, construction, agricultural and specialised machinery.

Our staff travel six continents to bring home the best value new and used goods, equipment, machinery and parts. We carry only the most reputable products from all over the globe and take the time to understand, service and support these products here in Australia.

When you do business with us, you become an integral part of the DOM story.
